With the objective of improving the performance or the Company the Training Department seeks to maximise the skills and capabilities of all our employees.
The Training Department helps ensure competence and excellence at all roles and levels within the Company. Training and assessments are delivered to meet our clients and legal requirements and additionally, to ensure compliance with our Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.
To assist in identifying training and development requirements employee appraisals take place at which employees are given an the opportunity to discuss and assess current and future objectives with a view to improving performance, working relationships and enhancing personnel development.
The Company's Health & Safety Policy is one of constant review, which takes account of changes in modern practices and the latest statutory regulations.
All employees, whether operational or administrative are familiarised with the Company policy, and are encouraged to participate in maintaining the high standards set.
Site operatives receive regular instruction in Health and Safety matters through "tool box" talks, performed by our Safety Manager, or member of our Safety Management team.
Prevention of accidents through safe methods of working is the key to our enviable Health and Safety record. This is a tribute to our operative's determination in ensuring that the work environment is a safe place, not only for themselves, but their colleagues and other trades working on the project.

Training is delivered both in house and by external training who are accredited to the CITB, CSCS and CPCS. W.Long are also Corporate Members of the British Safety Council who provide Health, Safety and Environmental training for our employees.
