W.Long operates a Quality Management System that complies with Environmental Management System in accordance with BS EN ISO 14001: 2004 which is integrated with Quality Management System that complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 throughout the our operations.

We have received the Bovis Land Lease Health, Safety and Environmental Accreditations certification, which reflects the high standard attained by this company over a number of years.

Our Green Policy lays down principles that promote practices and methods that lessen the impact, our activities have on the environment.

The policy encompasses the re-cycling of extracted materials, noise levels, dust nuisance and fuel types.

We examine material requirements and where client specifications allow, we recommend alternatives, which utilises more environmentally friendly and re-cycled materials.

With the facility to recycle on-site materials through employing crushing and screening equipment, we are able to reduce the nuisance of vehicular traffic and save extraction of material resources.

In the case of noise and dust emissions, the effects this can have on the surroundings to urban projects are obvious. Through forward planning, continual monitoring and control, such nuisances can be minimised to ensure that residents and adjoining properties are not inconvenienced.

All employees are appraised of our Environmental Policy and are encouraged to make appropriate suggestions on additional measure that could be adopted to enhance existing practices.

Our contribution to securing the environment for the future may be small, but our effort is sincere.

Quality Assurance

The Directors of W.Long & Company Limited place great emphasis on meeting and exceeding the quality expectations of our clients, and through constant review of our procedures we are confident that the service is the best available.

All criteria associated with ISO EN 9001: 2000 are fully met by our system, both on site and administratively.

All management systems conform and exceed the requirements of ISO EN 9002/14001. Our Quality Assurance procedures undergo regular regulatory and client audits.

All employees, included new starters are apprised of our quality procedures and are required at all times to observe the requirements of the system.

Each operational process is covered by check-lists which ensure that nothing is overlooked, and that specification and quality are in accordance with the client’s requirements.

We are certified by Independent European Certification Limited, certificate number is 441484.

A QA Manager has been assigned to monitoring and ensures full compliance as an on going function. There are of course regular external audits of our procedures.

The system is also flexible to adapt to meet individual clients systems and requirements to maintain the highest standards of quality and finish.

By directly employing operatives to carry out the majority of trades on site, the Company has the advantage of complete control over quality of workmanship to ensure client satisfaction on all projects undertaken.
